[Our good friends at the ​HB Holt/Manny Lopez Post 46 always step up to help so many in our community!  This is an excellent opportunity for us to support them and celebrate Valentines at a reasonable cost.]

January 15, 2019 -  Announcement by David Goldwasser (Director of the Marisa Fund) & Rich Fernandez (Race Volunteer Coordinator) Detailing 2018 Turkey Trot Proceeds 

On behalf of David Goldwasser (Turkey Trot Race & Marisa Fund Director) and myself, we would like to thank you again for selflessly volunteering your time this past FREEZING Thanksgiving morning. The 2018 Turkey Trot yielded $108,200 in proceeds. This total does not include the final donations that will come from the Modell’s coupon and the non-perishable food donated on race day for the People to People Food Bank (probably well over 700 pounds). An event of this magnitude can never happen without our great volunteers. we can never thank you enough for your support. 
Proceeds Breakdown:

  • Volunteer Ambulance Corp: $500-
  • Salvation Army: $500- plus the donations collected on race day-
  • Blue Knight Motorcycle Club: $500- they are such a great help to us-
  • Clarkstown North Photography  Club: $200- they always take great pictures of our event-
  • People to People Food Bank: $7,000-equals $28,000 @ the regional food bank + non-perishable food collected on race day-
  • (2) Scholarship Funds: $10,000
  • Marisa Fund: $90,000 (used for targeted research and to help local families dealing with pediatric cancer)-

March 22, 2018 -  Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland 10th Annual Community Service Awards Dinner

​RCPHS members along with our Advisory Board member Ed Day (Rockland County Executive) attended this local event to support the fine work done by the Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland organization.  Great event and cause!

​The Rockland County Police Hispanic Society sends out our Congratulations to Richard Fernandez!

A history of volunteerism has demonstrated Richard Fernandez’s commitment to his community and willingness to work for the betterment of others. Despite being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 20 years ago, Fernandez has never stopped volunteering for his community and has inspired most who come in contact with him as a result. June 3, 2018 - The 15th Annual North Rockland Community 5K Run/Walk @ Bowline Point Park, Haverstraw, NY.

The three North Rockland Families each received $10,000 for a total of $30,000 from this annual Event.  We thank all those that volunteered!  RCPHS made a substancial financial donation to this event.

November 22, 2018 - RCPHS Members & Others Volunteer at the 5-Mile Turkey Trot for the Marisa Fund -

A large contingent of volunteers showed up on a very cold Thanksgiving Day morning to help make the 27th Annual Rockland Road Runners Turkey Trot a successful event!  Volunteers included: RCPHS members, family & friends; American Legion Post 46; North Rockland NJROTC and Little Helping Hands.  Click Here for more info and photos on our News Page.

Statement from Rich Fernandez​​, Turkey Trot Volunteer Coordinator:

A heartfelt thank you to all our AMAZING volunteers who went above and beyond the call of duty today to make sure the Turkey Trot was a successful event in spite of the extremely frigid temperatures.  Your actions today verifies what I already know; our Turkey Trot volunteers are the most committed and skilled volunteers.  Without your support, an event of this magnitude could not happen you are the backbone of this great event.

I will email you community service letters no later than 11/30/18.  Please contact me via email if you do not receive your community service letter by the 30th. 

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your help today!

Statement from David Goldwasser, Trot Director:

Even though we had to endure record-setting cold, each and every volunteer stepped up for children with cancer. Whether you separated bananas, or lugged water, cheered on runners or moved garbage pails...every little thing you did so well made our event a major success.

I am so grateful for your made me look good through your tireless efforts and even though you may not realize it, those seemingly small things done with great love, end up helping us to raise large amounts of money for the little kids who need it most!

So, thank you all...have happy, healthy holidays and keep the volunteer spirit in your makes the world a better place.

Thank you, and I hope to see you all for the 28th Annual Turkey Trot for The Marisa Fund next November.

March 31, 2018 -  Rivertown Magazine and Local Business Name Marta Rodriguez as Hero of the Month 

RCPHS member Marta Rodriguez was presented with a plaque as Rivertown Magazine's March 2018 "Hero of the Month" at Posa Posa Restaurant in Nanuet.  Gary Parahus (owner of Gary's Gutter Services): "We salute her for all she has done for the community and the world.  Marta is involved with many non-profit and charitable organizations...
